Interim Finance Lead – Transformation & Commercial Uplift

Apointe is working exclusively with Purple Bricks, a private equity-backed business undergoing a pivotal transformation. They are looking for an experienced Interim Finance Lead to help steady the ship and unlock commercial value. You’ll take charge of finance operations, assess team capability, and lead initiatives that deliver real impact — from FP&A to cost optimisation. This is a hands-on, high-influence role where you’ll work closely with the board to help shape the future of the organisation.

They are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Lead to provide much-needed clarity and structure, while driving commercial performance across the organisation.

This is a key role designed to assess, fix and futureproof the finance function — with direct impact on decision-making, operations and business value.


What You’ll Be Doing:

Finance Function Assessment & Transformation

  • Review the current finance team structure, capability, and delivery.

  • Redesign and implement improved processes across AP, AR, cost control and planning.

  • Lead on year-end processes, personnel review, and the day-to-day running of the team.

Commercial Insight & Strategic Support

  • Conduct a full commercial analysis — where money is made, lost, or left on the table.

  • Identify opportunities for value creation and cost recovery.

  • Provide actionable insight and recommendations to the board.

Strengthening Reporting & FP&A

  • Review and improve existing FP&A capability and reporting routines.

  • Mentor and upskill the FP&A lead to support long-term success.

  • Embed accurate budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.


What We’re Looking For:

Experience

  • A proven interim finance leader with a background in private equity-backed or complex, fast-moving businesses.

  • Deep experience in hands-on transformation and finance team turnaround.

  • Commercially sharp, with strong FP&A and business partnering skills.

Skills & Style

  • Calm, structured and credible under pressure.

  • Able to challenge constructively while building strong relationships.

  • Detail-oriented, outcome-driven, and relentlessly solutions-focused.
