Finance Manager

Apointe is partnering with a fast-growing, purpose-led business to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an ideal role for a newly or recently qualified accountant seeking ownership, mentorship, and the chance to make a real impact in an innovative, scaling international company.

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing, international business that’s leveraging innovation and technology to drive change in its sector. You’ll work closely with an impressive Finance Director who will give you exposure, mentorship, and the autonomy to make the role your own, truly.

As Finance Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the finance function, delivering high-quality reporting, improving processes, managing day-to-day operations, and helping to shape the company’s next stage of growth. It’s hands-on, varied, and fast-moving, ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-performance environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead month-end processes and prepare insightful management accounts across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics.
  • Partner with the Finance Director to deliver budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • Support year-end close, statutory reporting, and audit preparation.
  • Oversee payroll, VAT, and tax submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage cashflow and treasury activity to support healthy working capital.
  • Maintain and enhance financial systems (Xero, Power BI, Fathom) and drive automation where possible.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to improve processes, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Support, coach and develop junior members of the finance team.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects that will shape the future of the finance function.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA), probably trained in practice and now looking to step into a role with real ownership, responsibility, and impact.
  • Excellent grounding in financial reporting and accounting standards (UK GAAP).
  • The confidence to improve systems, streamline processes, and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong IT and systems skills (Xero and Power BI experience a bonus).
  • Great communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow.
  • Attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work under pressure.

What’s in It for You:

  • A visible, broad role in a growing, purpose-led company.
  • Direct mentorship from an inspiring Finance Director.
  • Competitive salary + private medical + life insurance + pension.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
  • Office (Newbury-based).
  • Friendly, down-to-earth culture where ideas and initiative are encouraged.

If you’re a recently qualified accountant ready to take your next big step — in a business where you’ll learn fast, be trusted early, and genuinely make a difference, this is it.
