Group Financial Controller

Apointe is partnering with a recognisable, fast-moving brand that’s transforming its finance function and looking for a driven, technically strong and commercially curious Group Financial Controller to help lead the way.

If you’re a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with solid post-qualified experience in industry, and you’re ready to step up into a visible leadership role with real influence — this could be the career move that defines you.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the Finance Engine

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day accounting operations — AP, AR, GL, and revenue recognition — ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and control.
  • Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering timely and insightful financials that drive decision-making.
  • Partner closely with FP&A to ensure robust reporting, performance tracking, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Oversee liquidity and working capital across a multi-entity group.

Be the Guardian of Financial Integrity

  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts under FRS 102.
  • Manage the external audit process from end to end.
  • Deliver accurate management reporting, Board packs, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, Corporation Tax, and all statutory regulations.

Drive Change and Improvement

  • Strengthen internal controls and standardise processes across the finance function.
  • Champion system enhancements, automation, and smarter reporting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Manage and mentor a talented team of finance professionals.
  • Create a collaborative environment where ideas, innovation, and development thrive.
  • Oversee payroll in partnership with HR, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a strong grounding in financial reporting and controls.
  • Experience gained in both practice and industry, ideally in a consumer-facing or multi-entity environment.
  • Technically excellent, but equally confident communicating with senior stakeholders and driving improvement.
  • Hands-on, curious, proactive, and commercially aware — someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving setting.
  • A natural leader who takes pride in both detail and delivery.

Why This Role?

Because it’s a chance to make your mark in a brand that people know — one that’s evolving, investing, and looking for talented finance leaders to help shape its next phase.

You’ll work closely with a forward-thinking CFO who values autonomy, innovation, and momentum. You’ll gain exposure at the Board level, lead meaningful change, and help build a finance function to be proud of.

If you’re ready to own it — to lead, improve, and grow — this is your opportunity
